In the city of Tondo (a suburb of Manila) is the Harvesters Christian Fellowship church. This is the church that we are working with. Tondo is one of the world's poorest neighborhoods, yet there is a thriving church. One of the things that the church does is educate the some of the children and even has a feeding program for those that need it. It is evident the church sees potential in even the least among them and provides meaning and sustenance in the lives of those they serve.
Some of the people live in a "house" that is not much larger than the size of a mattress. Some of the people in Tondo do not have clothes or even decent shelter. There is also some that live on the railroad tracks because there is nowhere else.
Many times I wonder how my life would be different without Christ...
I think all of you are doing awesome things and I hope you continue to make a mark on your society and other societies around the world. Elisa, I'm proud of you. Ms. Pace
