Yesterday (right now its 8:40 am - Thursday ) we went to the Manila City Jail. It was quite an experience. We entered the compound and it was like a city within a city - population 4,000. We were not allowed to take in our cameras or cell phones so we don't have anything from inside the jail. I am posting a couple of pics from outside. We attended their chapel service. They actually had a worship band with electric guitars and drums.
For a while I forgot that we were in a jail because the atmosphere was exactly like a regular church. These men were singing some of the same songs that we sing in the states. I saw the biggest smiles and the best singing from those that were in jail but set free in their hearts!
